Spring Shred Week slated for week of April 19, 2010
According to the Federal Trade Commission, nine million Americans are victims of identity theft annually. The easiest way to protect yourself from identity theft is by shredding your personal information.

Cities Credit Union is holding its spring Shred WeekWeek from April 19 - 23. We encourage members to bring in unwanted personal documents which will be collected in secure shred bins in our lobby. All collections will be shred on-site at the end of the week by Shred-N-Go, a certified on-site shredding company.
But, how do you know what records to keep and how long to keep them? Here is a handy guide to how long you should obtain these important records:
• Tax returns - Up to seven years
• Canceled checks - Up to seven years
• IRA contributions - Permanently
• Retirement/savings plan statements, bank records, bills - From one year to permanently
• Credit card receipts and statements - From 45 days up to seven years
• Paycheck stubs - One year
• Home expenses - From six years to permanently
• Brokerage statements - Until you sell the securities
Annual Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 25, 2010
Cities Credit Union will hold its annual meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 in the credit union lobby. A short business meeting will be followed by food and prizes. Members can stop by all day on the 25th to pick up an annual report and register to win prizes.
